Dr. Michael Hasz is listed by the U.S. News & World Report in the top one percent of physicians in spine surgery and orthopedics. As a pioneer in spine health care, Dr. Hasz has performed minimally invasive surgery in the Washington metropolitan area for more than a decade , and was among the first group of people using various new techniques in this field, such as the use of MetRx diskoscope for lumbar and cervical spine surgery; DLIF (Direct Lateral Interbody Fusion) and XLIF (Extreme Lateral Interbody Fusion) for spinal fusion and deformity treatment; vertebral plasty and kyphoplasty to treat spinal fractures; intradiscal electrotherapy for lower back pain; and the use of Prodisc artificial intervertebral discs.

Dr. Hasz is a member of the American Orthopaedic Association, American Board of Spine Surgery, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons, Medical Society of Virginia, and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Association.
