Gu Gang, director of the Hainan Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone Administration, delivered a keynote speech at the Hainan Free Trade Port Forum on July 11, attracting hosts of audiences.

Themed on Lecheng's exploration and practices of constructing the Hainan FTP, Gu's speech applied vivid stories and detailed data to showcase how Lecheng has developed from a small village to a key industrial park in the Hainan FTP.

It is estimated that nearly 700,000 Chinese patients seek medical treatment overseas every year. “The establishment and prosperity of Lecheng means that more and more patients can enjoy the latest medicines and facilities globally in Lecheng without traveling overseas," Gu said.

"We shall not be satisfied with what we have achieved and we have to further promote reform to increase our competitiveness," Gu added.
