A delegation from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) visited Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone on May 21.

The delegation was led by Xu Shanchang and Jiang Yi, who are, respectively, the director and deputy director of the NDRC's Department of Economic System Reform.

As they toured the "Ever Lasting" International Innovation Medicine Exhibition, Gu Gang, director of the Hainan Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone Administration, outlined Lecheng's current situation in areas such as industrial planning, the outcomes of its status as a national pioneer in licensed medicines and medical instruments, and the integrated innovation of its systems.

Gu said that Lecheng's development fully showcases the deepening of its reforms and opening-up. Despite starting from scratch, it has quickly attracted a lot of high-caliber pharmaceutical enterprises all over the world.

He added that Lecheng will take further steps in terms of reform and innovation to optimize its business environment and accelerate the aggregation of its high-quality international medical resources.

A seminar was held during the delegation's stay in Lecheng, covering issues related to Lecheng mentioned in a document, which is on special measures aimed at further relaxing market access to Hainan Free Trade Port.
