Gu Gang (R), director of the Hainan Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone Administration, meets up with Thailand's ambassador to China Arthayudh Srisamoot.

A delegation led by Thailand's ambassador to China, Arthayudh Srisamoot, visited Hainan Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone on April 19.

The delegation toured the "Ever Lasting" International Innovation Medicine Exhibition accompanied by Gu Gang, director of the Hainan Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone Administration.

Gu offered a warm welcome to the delegation and gave them an outline of the current state of the zone, particularly in relation to areas such as the preferential policies of Hainan Free Trade Port, Lecheng's development plan, and its cooperation with Southeast Asian companies.

"Lecheng has been learning from other countries and regions in their advanced experience in medical development, and Thailand has unique advantages in areas spanning aesthetic medicine, rehabilitation tourism and assisted reproduction," said Gu.

He noted that Lecheng is willing to carry out communication and exchanges with high-quality medical institutions in Thailand, and seeks further cooperation in areas such as biomedical technology and international medical talent training.

Gu added that he hopes that Thailand's advanced medical products can be showcased during Lecheng's exhibition in order to let more people learn about the country's latest medical achievements.

Srisamoot noted that the exhibition is an important platform for showcasing the world's latest technologies, and he believes that more and more patients will be able to enjoy more and better medical services in Lecheng with its continuous growth.

The ambassador said that Thailand has paid a lot attention to the development of medical tourism and he is willing to play the role of "middleman" in boosting cooperation between Lecheng and Thai medical institutions.

The delegation also visited Boao Yiling Life Care Center during their stay in Lecheng, getting a close look at the traditional Chinese medicine and Tibetan medicine therapies being combined with modern technologies.
