Bristol-Myers Squibb, Boao Lecheng discuss further cooperation

A delegation from Bristol-Myers Squibb visited Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone in Hainan province on Nov 24.

The delegation met with local officials during their visit, including Gu Gang, director of the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone Administration Bureau, and Li Yunda, deputy director of the Hainan Drug Administration.

Gu welcome the delegation and outlined Boao Lecheng's current situation in areas spanning licensed policies, the licensing approval process for medical devices, as well as the demonstration for real world data application.

Gu said that Bristol-Myers Squibb is a global leader in producing medicines for areas like hematologic malignancies and solid tumors. He expressed his hope that deeper cooperation can be carried out to bring more medicine for tumors into the Chinese market through Boao Lecheng, allowing more Chinese patients to benefit from international innovative medicine.  

Li gave an introduction of the current development condition of the application of real world data in Hainan. He noted that the Hainan Drug Administration has now opened a fast channel for licensed medical devices for Boao Lecheng. 

Chen Siyuan, general manager of Bristol-Myers Squibb Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong, said that the exchange allows the company to learn more about Boao Lecheng's licensed medical policies and that the company will set up a special working group to push forward mutual cooperation.
