Boao International Hospital inks deal with Haikou hospital

The Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University and Boao International Hospital sign a strategic cooperation agreement on Oct 20.

The Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University and Boao International Hospital will carry out mutual cooperation and share regional high-quality medical resources to build a cluster for the world's top medical resources, creating an ideal destination for medical tourism, according to the strategic cooperation agreement signed on Oct 20.

The Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University is a large-scale comprehensive 3A-grade hospital, the highest of China's three-tier grading system, featuring functions spanning disease prevention, medical treatment, health care, teaching, and scientific research. It has introduced a batch of high-caliber technical backbones with the help of Hainan's talent attraction policy in the past three years.

Wang Yi, director of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University, said that the cooperation with Boao International Hospital is a model innovation made through the integration of resources from different fields, turning the future hospital group into a health consortium, as well as making major steps forward in medical technology innovation and health service development.

The hospital will team with Boao International Hospital to establish the new medical service system on the basis of the hospital group to continuously increase the overall allocation efficiency and utilization efficiency of medical resources to provide high-level medical services for Hainan Free Trade Port.

"The two hospitals are highly complementary and the cooperation between the two sides will promote the further application of advanced frontier medicine in Hainan, improve medical services efficiency, bring quality medical resources to more people, and optimize patients' medical experiences," said Peng Dawei, executive director of Boao International Hospital.

The strategic cooperation agreement has also put forward that the two hospitals will carry out deep cooperation in areas spanning cell therapy techniques, clinical cancer treatment, as well as treatment techniques for major diseases in countries and regions alongside the Belt and Road.
