Mu Yiming is Professor and Chief Physician of the Department of Endocrinology, Chinese PLA General Hospital, in Beijing.
Mu is former Chairman of the Chinese Society of Endocrinology of the Chinese Medical Association, Chairman of the Endocrinology Committee of the Chinese PLA Endocrine Association, and Chairman of the Endocrinology Branch of the Beijing Medical Association.
Mu has been doing basic and clinical research on the treatment of diabetes with stem cells, taking the lead in proposing the theory that stem cells could improve insulin resistance, and carrying out double-blind clinical research on stem cells in the treatment of diabetes.
He undertook more than ten major national scientific research projects and National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, including the 863 Program project Optimization of Preclinical Programs and Clinical Application Research of Stem Cells in Treating Diabetes. He has published over 150 papers and articles, including many in SCI-indexed journals.
