A 4-year-old baby received an implant of a US new-generation cochlea Ultra 3D at Boao Super Hospital on May 26, 2020. It was the hospital's first US new-generation cochlea Ultra 3D implant operation since the COVID-19 virus was contained.  

The new-generation cochlea Ultra 3D implant magnet uses a special material which can greatly reduce the influence of the magnetic field on the implant. 

Compared with traditional implants, the new implants can immediately undergo a 3.0T high-magnetic-strength NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) inspection. This operation is non-painful and there is no need for pressure bandaging, magnet removal, or body position restrictions.
