Hainan sends delegation to CIIE to promote FTP opportunities

Hainan province sent a trade delegation to Shanghai for the ongoing third China International Import Expo (CIIE), an ideal platform for enterprises to network in China and explore new business opportunities, to promote its Free Trade Port (FTP) policies and take part in business matchmaking activities.

The delegation is composed of Hainan-based enterprises and government departments including the provincial departments of commerce, tourism, and culture, the provincial health commission, the governments of Haikou and Sanya as well as the Hainan International Economic Development Bureau and Boao Hope City.                      

This year's CIIE will last until Nov 10. During this period, Hainan will display and promote the achievements of the Hainan Free Trade Port construction, as well as related key projects. The island province will also display its achievements in accelerating the cultivation of new forms and hot spots of tourism consumption, as well as in the construction of an international tourism consumption center with global influence. Promotions of the China International Consumer Products Expo will also be held and investment invitations will be sent out to CIIE exhibitors in the areas of consumer goods, automobiles, food and agricultural products, as well as medical health and healthcare.

The total business exhibition space for the third CIIE is 30,000 square meters larger than last year. It is divided into six exhibition sections, displaying food and agricultural products, automobiles, the smart tech industry and information technology, consumer goods, medical equipment and healthcare products, as well as trade in services.

This year, four special exhibition subsections for public health, smart transportation, energy conservation and environmental protection, and sporting goods, have been set up. The public health subsection, located in the exhibition area for medical equipment and healthcare products, showcases recent public health success stories.

More Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders than ever are present at this year's CIIE.

According to the CIIE Bureau, the exhibition area for Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders is up 14 percent from last year. Dozens of such companies have attended the expo for three consecutive years.
